pollution
China has a devastating pollution rate making their air dirty. The air is so bad that in Beijing, breathing the air does as much damage as smoking 40 cigarettes a day. Many people all around China wear masks to prevent harm to their body.
The pollution comes from many sources, but one the biggest source is coal burning. According to estimates by Greenpeace, coal burning produces half of China's pollution. All this pollution is devastating to China, but does affect other countries. About one third of San Francisco's pollution actually comes from China.
